Water Trapped In Between Sub-floor and Tile

A fire sprinkler in the master bedroom turned on and caused a water damage throughout the home. When we arrived on the scene, we noticed that the water had affected 4 rooms upstairs near the master bedroom and had also traveled downward and affected 3 more rooms. In this case, the ceilings, drywall, baseboards and flooring were affected by the water damage. In the picture you see that the flooring is being removed. That’s because there was trapped moisture in between the tiles and the subfloor. This procedure is called demolition. Demolition is necessary, in order to gain access to the subfloor and place the proper equipment necessary to dry the subfloor. Once the subfloor is dry, we test to see if there is still moisture. Then we remove our equipment once we are sure that everything is dry.
